Scheduled Cleaning
Many people ask if we provide yearly contracts for cleaning services. Our response to this question is both “yes” and “no.” “Yes,” we offer a cleaning specification for a city’s collection system, usually working yearly and cleaning by halves, thirds or quarters. “No,” we do not have a binding contract that states that a customer must spend so much per year with Hydro-Klean in order to implement a program like this. However, if a customer prefers a written contract, HK certainly honors this request.

Flexible Business Relationships
At Hydro-Klean, we believe that we are only as good as our last job. We also know that city dollars are widely dispersed to fill many needs. Therefore, Hydro-Klean does not hold a city to a specific spending requirement. We know that unexpected circumstances sometimes create financial emergencies, and funds originally intended for the collection system may have to be redistributed.

Needs Assessment
The preventive-maintenance program begins with a visit from a Hydro-Klean representative. First, our staff member collects historical data on the city’s collection system. This data includes information on the system’s age, total footage and the size of its lines. Typically, our representative then views a map of the collection pipes and opens up several manholes to get a sense of the system’s current level of cleanliness.

After this initial meeting, Hydro-Klean evaluates the information and writes a yearly preventive maintenance specification for the town. We establish footage prices for various line diameters for the upcoming years, as well as the total footage to be cleaned annually.

The four most important questions we ask in order to determine the program’s cost for each customer are: 

1. What size are the lines?
2. Are the lines under hard surface or easement?
3. How far does HK have to go for water and a dumpsite?
4. Are the manholes accessible?
